Tiny place. Very friendly staff. Excellent food and the dirty chai was good. Competitive prices.

Love, love, love this place! Unassuming, small, yet has amazingly tasty lattes and chicken wraps that come out perfectly every time. I was here for a 5-day business trip & considered trying other places, but ended up coming back here Every. Damn. Day. It’s run by just 2 friendly guys and they notice if you’re new to the neighborhood and welcome you. I’ll miss it.

Very friendly service. Cool inside temp (but not freezing) on a hot day and a comfortable place to work. Iced chai was delicious and potent.

I am recuperating from back surgery and am engaging in naughty habit of treating myself to a bagel, or two as I recuperate at home and put in my walking exercise.And, what better place to heal than to walk step by step to Penny House Cafe!I enjoy patronizing the Penny House because - Yes, they have good bagels and they are fresh! But, of equal mention it's their customer SERVICE that is their beacon of light!Each time I am greeted warmly and sincerely and with a genuine smile...I stopped by today and engaged in a lovely and charming conversation with Mohammed! He also made me laugh on a matter of two that involved one of his employees. I mentioned that this young man was a gentleman who interrupted his lunch break to make sure that I had a unblocked way into the eaterie.I am sorry for not knowing the young man's name, but he was most gracious and deserving of mention!Please, please keep up the great work! You're appreciated. Seriously and most assuredly.Thank you.

I was looking for a healthy bagel and I got the gouda special sandwich and I loved it. Great customer service.

Became a regular after one visit

The staff was super friendly and courteous. The establishment though small was very clean. Service was prompt and the food was great. The prices were more than reasonable. I had a 3 Cheese Omelet on a Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with a glass of Apple Juice and my daughter had a 3 Cheese Omelet on a Croissant with a Chai Tea Latte. We both enjoyed our breakfast.

Went to Penny House every weekend morning. Secretly, they have the best bagels in the area, great coffee, but the real key to what made Penny House my favorite was the guys behind the counter. Mohamed and his team are incredible. They remember your name and your go-to-order, even after just one visit. Also, low-key the best place to watch European soccer matches and talk about the fixtures. Miss them all, stay safe guys

Simple, unpretentious cafe that cranks out the best breakfast sandwiches in the neighborhood, an array of delicious coffee drinks, and even has a selection of pastries for a quick grab and go. Beyond the food and drink options, the customer service is on point. Everyone there is always super friendly, helpful, and engaging. Exactly what you want and more from a neighborhood coffee spot.

Ate here while visiting a friend in Brooklyn. Absolutely amazing bagels hosting a wide variety of ingredients for sandwiches. Both of us had the Norwegian which is smoked salmon, tomato, greens, a cream cheese sauce and scrambled eggs. They were happy to do fried eggs instead for my friend. They do only allow you to stay at a table for 90 minutes on weekends and busy days so just plan ahead! We had to wait just a minute or so for a table on a Sunday morning around 11

My coworker and I are teachers and had a workshop at a nearby school and struggled to find a place to eat until we came across Penny House. We loved it so much that we came back every time we had this workshop for lunch. Not only is the food delicious, but the staff and workers make it very personable by asking and recommending what goes great with what, and let you feel relaxed and welcomed the second you come in and the second you leave. I highly recommend coming in to try their amazing food and see the cultural they are bringing to this community! Thanks penny house !!!

Love this place! My hair dresser is one block away and I make it my business to come here whenever I get my hair done. I call beforehand and the owner knows my voice and my order. Once I get there my food is waiting for me and it is always delicious 😊

This is the best coffee in the neighborhood. I love their iced coffee. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious because the quality in cooking and ingredients is the best. My whole family - even the kiddos- love it at Penny House!

I got an iced coffee and breakfast sandwich from here when I was house sitting in the nearby area. It’s one of the best options available and very affordable! The barista was helpful and kind. I’m only giving it 4/5 stars because the coffee was a little more acidic than I like...I prefer a bolder smooth blend.

Kind staff. Place is not well aerated which is unfortunate when you take a coffee while some bacon bagel is being grilled in the background... don’t know how are the sandwiches but I didn’t like the viennoiserie.

I’ve never tried food menu items but have only heard good things from others. Cozy cafe with relaxed vibes. The staff are very warm, friendly, and helpful. The bagels are some of the better ones in the area (try the beef sausage special with the jerk mayo, you won't regret it).

An extremely modest establishment. Yet the bagel sandwiches, and super friendly service compels me to give it 5 stars. We had an everything bagel with ghost pepper cheddar, beef sausage and eggs. My guest ordered a wheat everything bagel with Turkey bacon, sriracha aioli, smoked gouda and eggs sandwich. Both were super good. Coffee was exceptionally good. A super filling breakfast for under 10 dollars. Omar served us and was super friendly, getting us coffee refills. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Supreme grilled chicken sandwich hit on all criteria: flavour, freshness, value. Coffee is also very delicious.

Cool millennials camping out in a 20 seat railroad cafe on a Sunday is not my idea of having fun, BUT, if you can get a seat at the window you will have a good time. The staff are genial, attentive and earnest, and make excellent sandwiches. Tell them what you want and take their recommendation. You cannot go wrong. Just don't sit next to a drone on a phone.

Cute cafe with a large menu. Prices are great and I found the food tasty. Overall, coffee and breakfast sandwiches were totally average - good but not “oh my god this is life changing” either. I would recommend and eat there again myself. Perhaps explore using real cups for people dining in as opposed to disposable :)
